N355 Cycle Path — White Topping

European first: a thin concrete layer with TwistR® macro fibres, applied directly over existing asphalt by Schagen Infra on behalf of the Province of Friesland.

Concrete · Friesland · 2018

The project in detail.

Along the N355, a cycle path was realised as a European first using the white topping method: a thin concrete layer with TwistR® macro fibres, applied directly over the existing asphalt.

The work was carried out by Schagen Infra on behalf of the Province of Friesland. The concrete is 100% reusable and the existing asphalt did not need to be removed — less transport, less waste and a faster turnaround.
