Provincial road N337

AsphaltX® fibres applied for structural asphalt reinforcement over 8 km of road surface. Significant reduction in rutting and cracking.

Asphalt · Overijssel · 2018

The project in detail.

On the N337 provincial road between Zwolle and Deventer, AsphaltX® was applied throughout the asphalt construction over an 8-kilometre stretch. The aramid fibres reinforce the asphalt through and through, without requiring any adjustment to the asphalt plant's mix design.

The results after monitoring: 50% less rutting and 30% less cracking compared to the reference section. This increases the expected service life of the road surface by around 30% — less maintenance, less traffic disruption and a demonstrably lower MKI score for the road authority.
