Profib is a 12 mm fibrillated polypropylene fibre (PP tape fibre) used for shrinkage crack control in sand-cement screeds, concrete floors and precast elements. During mixing, the fibrillated tape opens up into a fine network that disperses evenly throughout the screed or concrete. This network reduces plastic shrinkage cracking in the first hours after placing and improves surface quality. With approximately 100,000 fibres per kg, a low dosage of 0.6 to 1.0 kg/m³ is sufficient. Profib is supplied in 10 kg boxes; other cut lengths are available on request. Please note: Profib is a shrinkage-control fibre and is not a substitute for structural reinforcement. For load-bearing floors, choose a structural macro fibre or steel fibre.
